Vertical Deadbolt Control
Easy Single-Point to Multi-Point Conversion
VC Option

How Does It Work?
The VC Option consists of a modified Securitech automatic deadbolt multi-point mechanism and a surface-mounted housing with a sliding lever on the interior of the door. When the lever is up, the lock functions as a single-point lockset. Sliding the lever downward (when the door is closed) instantly projects the top and bottom deadbolts. These deadbolts will continue to project each time the door closes until the lever is slid back up, at which time the lock will operate in single-point mode.
Allows Auto-Bolt to function as a single-point lock during normal operation & become a multi-point lock for emergency or after-hours

Simple lever control
Door does NOT need to be opened to change from single-point ot multi-point
Easy conversion back to single-point locking mode
Arrow indicates mode
Available option on the auto-bolt deadbolt lock or P*E*D*S exit device series
Available for internal vertical deadbolt models or surface-bolt option

SEVERE WINDSTORM DOOR APPLICATION
Many severe windstorm doors are also high-traffic doors. Constant multi-point locking is not required or desired. The Vertical Deadbolt Control would be used during an emergency to provide multi-point protection.
Sliding the lever downward instantly shoots out the top & bottom deadbolts
SAFE ROOM APPLICATION
Safe rooms are frequently used for the other purposes. The lever would be depressed during an emergency. At all other times the single-point locking is sufficient.

DOOR & FRAME PREPARATION:
Full door templating available. Frame preparation as per Auto-Bolt lockset or
P*E*D*S Exit Device.

ORDERING INFORMATION:
Must be ordered as an option with lockset. Conversion in future would require new lock mechanism.
EMPLOYEE ENTRANCE DOOR APPLICATION
Employee entrance doors also serve as emergency exits. The Vertical Deadbolt Control allows single-point operation during high usage periods and simple conversion to multi-point protection for nights and weekends.
