The door shall contain
the necessary preparations to accept the vertical deadbolts.
Vertically-Stiffened hollow metal doors are recommended.
The first stiffener shall be a minimum of five inches from
the lock edge of the door.
Vertical deadbolts shall
be extended and retracted by threaded rods which shall be
inserted into the door and connected to activating arms
within the lock mechanism. Deadbolt caps shall be hardened
steel or stainless steel. Edge plates are to be installed
upon or within U-Channels at the door edge. Edge plates
are to be fastened by pop rivets, not screws.
Two-Point Deadbolt Unit:
The lockset shall automatically
project two deadbolts each time the door closes. Deadbolt
throw shall be a minimum of one inch.
Deadbolts to be projected
are the primary horizontal stainless steel deadbolt and
the top hardened steel deadbolt or the top and bottom hardened
steel deadbolts as listed on the hardware schedule or detail.
All deadbolts shall project and retract simultaneously.
Three-Point Deadbolt
Unit:
The lockset shall automatically
project three deadbolts each time the door closes. Deadbolt
throw shall be a minimum of one inch.

are the primary horizontal stainless steel deadbolt and
the top and bottom hardened steel deadbolts. All deadbolts
shall project and retract simultaneously.
Four-Point Deadbolt Unit:
The lockset shall automatically
project three deadbolts each time the door closes. Deadbolt
throw shall be a minimum of one inch.
Deadbolts to be projected
are the primary horizontal stainless steel deadbolt and
the top and bottom hardened steel deadbolts. All deadbolts
shall project and retract simultaneously. There shall be
a stationary bolt on the hinge-edge of the door to create
a four-point locking system.

A 1-1/8 long mortise
cylinder shall be provided for the MAGLATCH system.
Cylinder manufacturer,
keying level and keying information is to be provided separately.
Keys per cylinder shall be as specified elsewhere.
