1. Locksets and latches
shall be heavy duty type in function, trim and finish as
specified.
2. Multiple-point locking
system
a.Security deadlock shall
be Securitech Model #4840, a surface mounted multiple-point
deadbolt system with simultaneous locking or unlocking on
one 360º key revolution of the turnknob from the inside
or key from the exterior side, as listed on the hardware
schedule.
b. Moving deadbolts shall
project a minimum of one full inch in each direction. All
bolts shall be moving. Inswing doors shall receive rectangular
deadbolts measuring four inches long as the top and horizontal
bolts, with a rounded bolt measuring five inches long for
the lower bolt. Outswing doors shall receive four rounded
bolts.
c. The lock shall be
located at the center of the door, installed at a height
of approx. fifty inches, unless designated otherwise on
contract drawings.
Exterior guard plate
shall be include a hardened steel layer and be thru-bolted
with four bolts, where exterior operation is designated
(model #4840-HG). An alternative guard plate, where protection
against cylinder vandalism is required, shall include the
Securiguard guard plate mounted on a stainless steel plate
and thru-bolt with four bolts, as listed on the hardware
schedule (model #4840-SG). Where no exterior operation is
desired, there are to be no bolts visible on the exterior
face of the door (model #4840-XX).
