Lockset shall be ELECTROLATCH,
model # 9010 (or #9012: Heavy Duty Model), as manufactured
by Securitech Group, Inc., or approved equal.
Lockset shall be a heavy-duty
mortise lockset which contains a 3/4" deadlatch. Interior
exiting shall be by depression of a lever handle. Exterior
unlocking shall be either by a key and depression of the
lever handle or through an interface with the intercom or
card access system, which shall send an impulse to momentarily
release the lever handle, allowing it to be depressed and
retract the latch. The exterior shall always be in a "Fail
Secure" mode: key is always required for entry. Security
is maintained in the event of a power failure.
Exiting shall be possible
at all times with a single motion or action and is "Fail
Safe". Power is not required for exiting.
The exterior lever handle
shall be fabricated of cast stainless steel and contain
a slip-clutch apparatus which will lower or rise without
retracting the latch if depressed without insertion of the
key or electric release. The exterior lever handle unit
shall also contain the ability to replace the cylinder without
removing the interior or exterior trim plates. Access to
remove the cylinder shall be via allen screw through the
interior trim. A series of two allen screws, one of which
is to be removed, shall be used. The cylinder shall be protected
within a hardened steel cylinder protector.
The interior lever shall
also be made of cast stainless steel and shall contain a
removable cap at the hub, which when removed via allen key
shall allow for the removal of the spindle. After removal
of the spindle the lockset is to be able to be removed without
any further removal of the lock trim. The bolt sections
of the interior trim are to be covered by Trim Brackets
which are pop-riveted to the door.
Lockset trim shall be
thru-bolted with four bolts and one-way threaded caps. Power
required for the exterior trim is 24vAC, 30va (or 24vDC
if so specified). A Handle Stop is to be affixed to the
bottom of the exterior lever handle unit and shall protrude
outward so as to prevent handle rotation over 180 degrees.
For 9012 Model Only:
Exterior Trim Brackets
shall be affixed over the exterior lever handle unit at
the cylinder and lever handle and affixed to the door with
security fasteners. All exposed screws are to be tamper-proof.
ADD FOR Outswinging Doors
A Latch Protector shall
be mounted to protrude over the edge of the door and cover
the latch and strike on all outswinging doors.
