Four-Point Deadbolt Locking
Locksets shall be Securitech
mortise locksets, series 5400. The door shall be deadbolted
in four locations: The primary horizontal deadbolt shall
project from the lock body and a top and bottom deadbolt
shall project into the header and saddle. The hinge-edge
of the door shall have a stationary deadbolt to create a
four-point locking system.
Locksets are to be installed
into the door in the standard A.N.S.I. A156.13, mortise
preparation and shall contain necessary parts to accept
top and bottom deadbolt rods. Top and bottom deadbolt caps
shall be hardened steel.
Note on door preparation:
Wood and steel insulated
doors are to be prepared with channels for top and bottom
deadbolts, as specified on the manufacturer's template.
The locksets' functions
shall correspond to the appropriate A.N.S.I. function designation
(e.g. F01) as listed on the detail for each individual opening.
The interior and exterior
trim and knob or lever design shall be Securitech type 10.
