The unique LevereX™ slip clutch system resists attacks by would be vandals or burglars. The handle will "break away" if forced. It is easily reset to the normal position by simply lifting it upward (special force not required).
How does it work?

LX Series retrofit trim replicates the action of the exterior cylinder of an exit device, but with lever movement to meet ADA code and operational requirements.

The LX trim has a rear operator which extends from the trim to the exit device. When the lever is released by key or electric release, the exit device latch is retracted (manually by the lever movement) and the door may be opened. Releasing the lever returns it back to the 90° (locked) position.

Classroom function trim operation is also available to retain an unlocked lever for extended periods.
