Fail-Safe Exiting
To meet life-safety codes, standard Securitech control trim
allows exiting at all times with the simple depression of
the lever. In MAGLATCH models, power is interrupted to the
electromagnet (which instantly releases it) as the lever is
depressed and the latch is retracted.
Fail-Secure Entry
The exterior lever is rigid unless released by key or electric
signal. Loss of power keeps the lever in the locked mode,
unless released by key. The exterior lever is locked whenever
the key is removed.
Classroom Function
In certain cases, the exterior lever is to remain unlocked
for extended periods. By ordering the "CF" function,
rotation of the key unlocks the lever. The key may be removed
and the lever remains unlocked until the key is reinserted
and rotated to relock the lever. The latch always projects
to maintain the fire-rating.
Stairwell Re-Entry
Certain building codes require locked exterior levers to automatically
unlock upon a signal from the fire-alarm system or loss of
power. Securitech control trim with "RE" designation
meets this requirement and does not require special frame
preparation.
