Electromagnetic Lock Releasing Method

Taking Control Of The
Magnetic Lock
Securitech
Signal Trim radically alters the notion of electro
magnetic lock release. There are no relays, circuits,
timers or other devices. In short, no intelligence
is used to release the magnet. This reduces potential
code conflicts. Which
Securitech Product Is Right For Your Application?
Traffic Control
When electromagnetic locks are used for traffic
control, ARTE provides exiting via invisible
release of the magnet via movement of the lever
handle. Entry is accomplished via access control
system release of the magnet. In fire-rated
situations, a passage function latch lock may
be installed to meet code requirements. Free
Exiting is always possible. In the event of
a power failure the door will be unlocked from
both sides.
High-Security
When electromagnetic locks are used for a greater
level protection against forced entry, MAGLATCH
provides the same exiting method of ARTE but
adds electrically-released trim for fail-secure
exterior-locking.

Access
Control & Alarm Signaling Without Motion
Sensors Or Push-Buttons
|
If the access control system requires
a signal to indicate that there is a valid exiting from
the interior as opposed to a break-in or invalid entry
from the exterior, a "R-T-E" switch within
the panic bar or lever sends the signal to the access
control system. This will prevent an alarm from sounding.
Few Devices, Greater Security
Securitech control trim eliminates the need for wall-mounted
request-to-exit buttons (which may violate ADA or
other codes) and removes the need for overhead motion
sensors. These sensors may lessen security as they
can be breached. They may actually lessen personal
safety as a person on the inside who stands in front
of the door (to see who is on the outside) unlocks
the door without realizing it.
If an electromagnetic lock is installed,
the access control system no longer releases the magnet
when exiting, eliminating potential problems or code
violations.
